What are the advantages of cam shedding compared to crank and connecting rod shedding?

Cam shedding and crank-connection rod shedding are commonly used forms of shedding in mechanical motion. However, cam shedding has the following advantages over crank and connecting rod shedding:

1. Higher accuracy
The machining accuracy of cam shedding is much higher than that of crank connecting rod shedding, because the shape of the cam is more complex and requires higher processing technology and equipment to achieve it. This also means that cam shedding can achieve higher motion accuracy and control accuracy.

2. Faster
In comparison, cams are faster because they can move faster when handling higher workloads. This means that cams can provide higher production efficiency and shorter production cycles where high-speed movement is required.

3. More capable
The cam can withstand higher workloads because its movement is controlled by the shape and size of the cam rather than the length and angle of the crank connecting rod. This means that cam shedding can provide higher working capacity and longer service life where high loads need to be handled.

4. Wider applicability
Cam shedding can be customized with different cam shapes and sizes according to different needs, so it has wider applicability and can adapt to different mechanical motion needs. The crank connecting rod shedding is generally only suitable for linear motion and simple rotational motion.

To sum up, the cam has the advantages of higher precision, faster speed, stronger capability and wider applicability than the crank connecting rod. In mechanical motion situations with higher requirements, cam shedding is a better choice.
